Jennifer Yates, DVM

Dr. Jennifer Yates has lived all over the country, but calls Las Vegas, Nevada her home. She spent her elementary school years in Las Vegas before relocating with her family to Louisiana. Dr. Yates obtained her Bachelors of Science and Master of Science in Animal/Dairy Sciences both from Louisiana State University. After working as a veterinary technician for a year, Dr. Yates returned to Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine where she obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Yates began her veterinary career here in Las Vegas before moving to the East Coast. After practicing in Long Island, New York for a few years, she was more than ready to leave the cold winters and return back to sunny Las Vegas. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Nevada Veterinary Medical Association and holds licenses to practice in both Nevada and New York.
Dr. Yates resides in Las Vegas with her husband Clint and their “fur kids”; 3 Boxers (Abby, Daizi and Zephyr), a Border Collie (Perk) and a Yorkshire terrier (Bling). They also share their home with a very talkative African Grey parrot (Nala) and a Quarter Horse (Derby).
Special areas of interest include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, behavior training, and pain management. She also has a strong interest in dog training and canine sports medicine. Dr. Yates is an avid canine sports enthusiast and an active competitor in agility, obedience, tracking, and herding events. When not out running with the dogs, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and horseback riding.
Caren Carney, DVM
Dr. Carney was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She attended college at Louisiana State University where she received her Bachelors of Science in Micorbiology with a Chemistry minor in 2001. She worked as a Research Associate at LSU studying Fire Ants for a few years before returning to school to follow her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She graduated from LSU in 2007 with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, and moved to Las Vegas, NV to practice.
She worked in private practice for 4 years, before starting her own business as a Relief Veterinarian. She is the primary relief veterinarian at the Pet Medical Center of Las Vegas, caring for clients and patients when Dr. Yates is unavailable. She has a special interested in Feline medicine and behavior, however she also enjoys the canine patient. She currently resides in Las Vegas. She has 3 cats, Buttercup, Denali, and Bryce and and a German Shepherd named Maya. In her free time she loves to hike, rock climb, travel, and explore new places.
