It is a harsh reality but 1 in 3 pets goes missing during its lifetime, and without proper ID, 90% never return home. The HomeAgain® microchip for dogs & cats gives the best protection with permanent ID that can never be removed or become impossible to read. This small implant reunites 10,000 pets with their owners each month.

The HomeAgain® microchip is smaller than a grain of rice (12mm) and is simply injected under your pets skin between the shoulder blades. The process is much like a routine shot and requires no anesthetics. Since the microchip requires no energy source, it will last the life of your pet.
If your pet ever goes missing and is taken to a veterinarian or animal hospital, your pets permanent ID number can facilitate your pets return. The microchip is read by passing a microchip scanner over the pets shoulder blades. The low radio frequency of the scanner provides the power necessary to identify your pets unique ID code which leads to positively identifying your pet.

The Pet Medical Center of Las Vegas uses the international version of the HomeAgain® microchip. This ensures that the microchip can be scanned virtually anywhere in the world.
Microchip Identification FAQ
Will I need to have a microchip implanted more than once?
The microchip should last the lifetime of your pet. The implant is composed of biocompatible materials that will not break down over time. Since the HomeAgain® microchip has the patented Bio-Bond™ anti-migration feature, the chip will stay exactly where it was implanted. As a precaution we scan the chip at each visit to make sure the chip is working and the registration is current.
Will implanting the microchip hurt my pet?
No anesthetic is required as the microchip comes preloaded with a sterile applicator and is injected under the loose skin between the shoulder blades. The process takes just a few seconds, and your pet will not react any more than he would to a routine shot or vaccination.
My pet wears a collar with tags, so is the microchip necessary?
All pets should wear a collar that has a tag with the owners contact name and phone number. The microchip provides the added benefit that if the pet is found without its collar, the permanent ID on the chip can be traced back to the owners.
